A man, his bike….and his turkey

Despite  raining and storms during the night it was dry but very dark and overcast as a couple of us met for coffee at just past 6.00AM. By the time it was due to meet the others at the fuel station at 7.00AM things had not improved much. Mike, Wayne, John Mc E, myself and new rider Ralph and son set off south into the mountains. 20 minutes into the ride and just a few spits of rain. We pulled over and got prepared for the worst as you could see the rain ahead.

Down past Sentul and then up to Rainbow Hills Golf Course for a coffee. Very cool ride but not cold  as we had somehow missed all the rain. Like riding thru a fine mist at times and even the bikes enjoyed a run in some cooler air. Traffic was not too bad thru the markets either. Then setting off down to Ranchamaya to catch up with Grant and Mike T who were coming back from Palabran Ratu. They, however, were still having breakfast so

after having a quick feed we headed back thru Bogor. Bad move as the traffic was very heavy at times and a usually quiet short cut thru Cinere was totally blocked. Quick about turn and found a more open route. Ending up for debriefing at Mad Dogs. Round trip of 150 Km and everybody was still dry!

Good ride guys……

Mike turned up about 45 minutes later but not Grant who was limping home on a one cylinder bike. Stopped off at F39 on the way home and Mike gave riding lessons to the turkey, or was it the other way around ???

Claytons comment of the day..

“ With these (Ground Pounder ) pipes I can pull quietly away from the lights”

Yeah right……..
