330 Kilometers of Pure Fun |

What was going to be a quiet trip for four turned into a great trip for ten. We headed down to Plaburan Ratu Saturday morning. Several stops, leisurely pace and far too much traffic saw us down there around three after a 7.00 AM start. Nice dry sunny trip down as well. Straight to Dieters for a sausage cook up and then for a clean up and return to Dieters for a great night. Highlight was Dieter doing what he thought was a burn out on his Honda 200 inside his bar. Then we dropped the rear of the bike that we were holding up slightly off the ground and one very surprised Dieter and one rapidly forward moving bike! Not for long though as there was thankfully a cleverly placed wall and floor to help stop him. Not to be outdone his first words, while on the floor still under the bike I might add were...“see how well I can crash!, I did it expertly!” Much more entertainment from all of us with special mention to a jelly legged Dave and ever smiling Pixie. Gila was well restrained, often by at least three of us, and nobody got out of line. Of course the line gets moved several places in these situations. Having a hotel less than 50 meters away helped matters as we all walked (?) back. Some were up early next morning and some not so early. Dave gets the Green Gills award. Managed to sort ourselves out by 10.00AM and started back home. Stopped halfway thru the hills just as it started to rain. Thankfully only rained for the next 20 Km, however, this was the twistiest bits of road and the pace was very conservative. Back into the main road and again just a easy pace and several stops made for a enjoyable ride back. Little bit more of the wet stuff after Bogor and back to Jakarta by 4.00 PM. No problems with any of the bikes along the way which also made for a relaxing trip. Roads were good except for other side of Bogor where the tar had been pushed up and around and it was like going over waves . Worse than pothole as you could not see them very well.
Great bunch of guys and a fun filled weekend.
