Almost a damp start to the ride and the clouds were rolling in at an alarming rate. Jean having broken a rear shock absorber on the way to the start point pulled out and limped home. The remainder, six of us, dubiously headed for the hills.
Made it down to Sentul Golf Course for a coffee still dry. Hans even didn’t complain about the coffee too much. Then thru the hills to where several mud slides and associated mud and running water across the road made for some interesting riding. |

More refreshments and then turned for home stopping in front to Rainbow Hills driving range for these shots. Doesn’t look like it but at that stage we were in the middle of some sporting rally and surrounded by hundreds of people dressed in blue. Very jovial lot, must have won I guess, and let us thru the pack of bikes with no problems at all. Nice pace was set by Hans all day and we were soon well back into Jakarta proper. |

Mr. Brett self proclaimed ”Captain Sensible” (left) managed to cause great confusion and panic behind when he found himself on the wrong side of a median barrier and locked everything up to try and make it. “Missed it by that much” was his comment. I bet several of the drivers behind us were saying the same thing. Back to mad Dogs for the F1 Malaysia race and then home although some were headed into the block for more fun. Another good ride by all.
Next week Palembuan Ratu ride. Contact Grant for details. |
