After several members met on Saturday night it seemed that we would have a large ride Sunday morning. Seven of us made it out of bed and to the fuel station by 7.00AM. Not too bad….….about a 50% turnout. Again taking the lead we set out to Bogor. Grants bike had a blocked fuel jet so I put him in front so he could set the pace he wanted, he know the way and had been there lots of times. After sailing past our usual turn off I pulled alongside at a set of lights a few Km down the road. “ Have you found a new way down there or ??????” “*##*&^’” was the reply. |

No problem. We decided to hang a left as you could not get too lost. Found a few new roads and woke up some new locals but after about 15 minutes we were back on track. Stopped at Permata Sentul for a coffee and other life giving fluids. Food was to be at the next stop. Somehow one jug turned into three and half way thru a rumble was heard outside. Chris, Mark, Steve and brother Jim, who are obviously not early risers but could remember where |

we had talked about going the night before turned up. For those that can’t count (Wayne) that made 13 riders and bikes. Good ride thru the hills to the next stop and food. The road was dry and reasonably free of dirt for a change so all the switchback corners were fun and all enjoyed the ride. After filling up we headed to the not so famous Star Deli in Sentul. Same ownership as the Jakarta bar. No points to the owner of this Sentul Photo shop as he wanted us to move so ALL HIS CUSTOMERS could park. In the 45 minutes we were there NO other car even arrived in the park. |

If it was my shop, I would have been out there taking photos of eleven Harleys parked outside the shop...whatever. Time to head the 50 Km or so home. Quick adjust of the chain tension on Marks bike and we were away. Unfortunately he collected a BIG pot hole on the way back and broke four spokes on the rear wheel. |

Arrived to hear the news that England was giving Australia a hiding in the cricket. Too bad , I think I was 11 when that last happened. Great ride as always and a goog turn out in the end. Round trip of some 160 Km in all. Couple of stops but no major problems with any of the bikes, or riders. Well done Captain Sensible !
Just a reminder that membership is due now. I will be emailing you as well .
See you all next week.. |
