Big Bike Competition

We got invited to join with Bikers Station and ride with them into the Big Bike Competition. This is a new reality TV show and this episode was on building bikes.

Started out at 6.30 but of course that meant actually leaving Bikers Station around 7.45. Anyway along with about 40 bikes and a police escort we rode into Jakarta to the “Jak TV” studio. There we saw the other three bikes that were in the competition. Four very different bikes and styles as you can see from the photo’s. Now numbering around 100 Bikes we went to a Korean restaurant in Blok M  for further filming and lunch. By that stage there was about 250 Bikes, mostly Harleys but a good smattering of BMW’s and a few Goldwings.

Bikers Station entered the hub-less rear wheeled beast to the left. If you saw all the uncovered drive chains you would also be wearing those type of  boots!!

Anyway after Clive and I got interviewed (short history of what we do and what we thought about the bikes entered in the competition) we headed over to Debit Dave’s house with some taking a wrong turn and having to spend some time at Sportsman’s. Some fine wines and cigars at Dave’s and then headed home for a early, 5.00 PM, finish.

Mind you by that time we were all ready to just relax and watch the F1 on TV.

 

Interesting time and always great to see so many big bikes all together in Jakarta.

 

Next weekend is the Highland Gathering and lets hope it is not as wet as last years event.
