Pelabuhan Ratu

With Doug and Max soon to be moving back to Darwin it was time for a last ride together. No long weekends around at this time of the year so an overnight trip to Pelabuhan Ratu was the best option. 6.00AM start from Jakarta and easy ride thru the hills to catch up with Steve and Ralph in Lido Lakes. That made 10 bikes in all. Short stop at Lido then wandered down to the sea by 12.30. Straight to Any’s Place and a few beers while it decided to rain. We beat the rain by 20 minutes

Afternoon body surf for some and afternoon naps for the others.  Met again at Any’s around 7 for dinner.

Good seafood spread for dinner followed by a local band with Deiter’s 10 year old son on the drums. They did an excellent job and all enjoyed the night. Wayne made it past 9.00 PM !!!! (Probable cause– no pizza)

SOME of us were up early next day looking for coffee and by 6.30 Jack had stirred so it was coffee by the sea, excellent way to start the day.

Obligatory 2 hour breakfast at Any’s  (One meal at a time and normal accounting nightmare but finally away around 9.30 AM) The rain chased us all day coming back into Jakarta but we managed to just stay

ahead and back to the Kristal by 2.30 where it poured down and forced several of us to stay for some additional rounds of milk while the sky’s cleared. Doug and Max, hope you enjoyed the ride as much as the rest of us did and good luck with the bike tours in Australia. It has been great riding with you both.
