Sembako Ride to Sumedan

This ride was a joint effort with the Yayasan and the Brotherhood. Together we gave away 100 Sembako packs which are basically goods that make up the 7 essentials, rice, cooking oil,  sugar, etc.. The Yayasan ladies did a great job of purchasing the items and assembling all the packs. Seven bikes were sent by truck to Pulwerkarta and then they rode the rest of the way to Cimalakas. Pedro swapped two wheels for four legs much to the enjoyment of the local kids. We then went up and did the symbolic handing over of the items to a few locals before all the goods were given out.

The ride down was in clear warm conditions and the roads were in good condition.

This area is renowned for the teaching of the “super human” powers. Interesting stuff as a few members found out from Sharif below who made himself super heavy and he could not be picked up off the ground. Believe it or not but I think we have a few converts from those who tried.

We were joined by around 100 bikes from the Brotherhood and once again it is fantastic to see all these old bikes out and about. The group then left to return to a camping ground for the night and then return to Pulwerkarta to ship the bikes back. haven't heard how they went but I am sure it was a night to remember.
